INDOMINA PRESENTS THE MANGA VS AMERICAN COMIC BATTLE!

INDOMINA MEDIA CREATES EXCLUSIVE DETECTIVE DEE AND THE MYSTERY OF THE PHANTOM FLAME GRAPHIC NOVEL CONTEST AS A LEAD UP TO THE FILM’S STREET ON DECEMBER 13

Graphic Novel Voting Runs Through November 1 to November 14 at 12 AM EST

Cast Your Vote At www.Facebook.com/DetectiveDeeFilm

Los Angeles, CA, November 1, 2011 - On the heels of the international success of the critically acclaimed wuxia epic, DETECTIVE DEE AND THE MYSTERY OF THE PHANTOM FLAME, and in celebration of the DVD/Blu-Ray/Digital/On Demand release on December 13, Independent Film and Distribution Company, Indomina Media, Inc., has created an exclusive contest featuring two notable graphic artists – Melissa DeJesus and Andy Belanger.  The contest will run between November 1 to November 14 at 12 am EST, where fans can visit www.Facebook.com/DetectiveDeeFilm to vote for their favorite comic.  The winning artist’s graphic novel will be converted into a motion comic book as part of a bonus feature for the DVD and Blu-Ray release, as well as a grand cash prize.

The artists will face off in a battle between which comic book style works best – American or Manga style. DeJesus will represent the Manga Comic Style and Belanger will represent the North American Comic Style. The contest will give both artists the opportunity to create a digital graphic novel based on a Detective Dee treatment, which was provided by Indomina.

The artists have between October 7 and October 28 to finish their artwork (which includes pencils, inks and lettering) before voting starts on November 1st.  Once the voting ends on November 14 at 12 am EST, the winner will be announced on Facebook.

About The Artists:

Melissa DeJesus (representing the Manga comic style)

Mel was born and raised in Queens, New York. She studied cartooning in Art & Design High School and animation at The School of Visual Arts. Mel also taught cartooning to children for several years at a local community college in Queens, teens at Hostos Community College in the Bronx, and substituted a senior portfolio class at The School of Visual Arts.

While not slaving over her desk buried in work, Mel likes to play video games and paint model kits...which isn't very often.
